Anxiety and Panic Disorders

Unpredictable, overpowering, and debilitating…

That’s what anxiety feels like as it takes over your body and mind. It’s like you’re trapped… powerless against it.

It’s not long before you start saying to yourself, “I must be doing something wrong.”

Cycles of unending criticism, self-judgment, self-loathing and negative self-talk sabotage you further.

Bodily sensations such as trembling, shaking and sweating leave you shamed and embarrassed.

And that produces even MORE anxiety!

And when the anxiety gets excessive…

It’ll turn into depression, phobias, and outright panic attacks.

Sure, you do things to try to release yourself from the pain, like…

… avoiding people, places, or situations…

… doing various rituals to cope…

… pretending that your anxiety and panic will go away on their own….

… or denying there’s anything wrong in the first place.

But nothing releases your pain, and your brain feels like it’s going to explode trying to deal with it!

Therapy is a great way to get anxiety under control.

My approach uses traditional talk therapies such as CBT and Psychodynamic work along with holistic Brainspotting Psychotherapy.

I blend a mix of these therapies depending on the needs of each client.

Talk therapy alone cannot access experiences that trigger anxiety.

Bad memories and experiences are stored deep in the mid brain. Access to them to relieve the anxiety they cause is hard to get to.

Enter Brainspotting…

It is a revolutionary, advanced therapy for overcoming negative emotions and experiences. It releases stored trauma and rebalances the nervous system. Thus, minimizing anxiety.

It is one of the few techniques that addresses the root causes of psychological stress that stimulates anxiety.

Brainspotting also addresses the physical responses to anxiety such as gastro issues, poor sleep and panicky emotions.

Many people who experience chronic anxiety or have had a panic attack, have either had trauma in their history or feel trauma from having anxiety.

I have found that Brainspotting somatic therapy directly addresses the underlying trauma and is a vital component to healing anxiety.

How does Brainspotting work?

Brainspots are eye positions that relate to a particular experience, memory, thought or emotion.

We all have them and use them every day without thinking about it.

The purpose of this therapy is  to unlock these eye positions to help us overcome our anxiety.

We uncover the source of the anxiety and process so you can learn how to release the feelings and emotions tied to the memory, experience or thought.

As you let go, it helps you to heal, process and overcome your anxiety.

Traumatic energy is released during a brainspotting session. And it activates the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

We will pick the right combination of therapies for you. And you will have weekly body awareness exercises to do at home to help you gain more control.
