Healing Trauma and PTSD

“This is very hard.”

You thought you buried the piles of bad experiences away.

But you can barely see straight as they come back out of nowhere.

It feels like your brain is one big messy filing cabinet.

And your body is worn down.

“When will this go away?”

Trauma is unpredictible.

Untreated it can lead to depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse and failed relationships.

And your symptoms may be very different from others.

Sometimes trauma lies hidden deep in the body and you don’t realize it until it is too late.

Are any of these common reactions familiar?

Emotional numbness or shock

Hyper vigilance – high alert that something bad will happen

Strong emotions such as anger, resentment, irritability

Isolation

Negative Self-view and shame

Insecure

Tying to control everything

Mistrusting

Afraid, panicked, helpless and confused

No hope for the future

And the physical symptoms:

Trouble sleeping and nightmares

Stomach upset and trouble eating

Pounding heart, rapid breathing, feeling shaky

Headaches

Poor self care

Substance usage

Ongoing medical issues getting worse

Trauma is so complex. That’s why I am here for you.

I have devoted 20 years of study to treating trauma.

I have developed a blended method of psychotherapy using traditional and holistic therapies in order to provide gentle and compassionate care.

You do not have to re-live your traumas in order to heal from them.

And that is good news as most stop themselves from getting care when they can’t face past events.

That’s where Brainspotting comes in…

Discover powerful, lasting relief.

I practice Brainspotting to heal trauma. I see it work everyday.

It is the golden standard for trauma care, developed in 2003.

Beyond where talk therapy can take you.

Trauma is stored in capsules in the mid brain — imagine the center of the earth. And it is very hard to get to.

Talk therapy cannot access it.

Brainspotting is very gentle, targeted neuro-psychotherapy that DOES get to those areas.

Brainspotting unlocks the body’s natural healing mechanisms, harnessing it’s ability to “self scan” to gain direct access to the parts of the brain where traumatic experience is stored.

How does Brainspotting work?

I identify a “brain spot” – a specific eye position that relates to a particular experience, memory or thought.

We all have them and we use them everyday without knowing it.

Together we uncover the source of trauma and process so you can learn how to release the feeling and emotions.

My goal is to move you from a state of dysregulatoin — emotional pain and distress, to regulation — relief of your symptoms.

Brainspotting allows stored trauma, emotional responses and toxic energy to release and give clarity to previous difficult life events.

The process is gentle, simple and client driven. I like that because you get to have a big role in your treatment.

I would be honored if you would reach out today.

I would love to hold a safe space for you as we work together to heal and move forward.
